NYPA ANNUAL PICNIC & MEETING JULY 27, 2008

The annual picnic and meeting for the NYPA was held this year at the home of Richard & Janette Peeters.  It was a beautiful day with only a short period of sprinkles in the air!  Janette welcomed all who attended. Then Linda Tangen presented Janette with a dozen roses from the officers and director's for everything she has done. Thank you to Tim Tangen for the wonderful job you did with the blessing preceding our meal.  There were close to 65 members and guests present for the day who came and enjoyed (except for the pesky FLIES!!) a wonderful buffet lunch.  David Decker deep fried 2 turkeys for us which were delicious, Lauren Waite and Linda Tangen barbequed sweet sausage, hot dogs and hamburgers!
After lunch we THANKED our outgoing vice president- Tom Hanson.  Also we THANKED director Webb Stevens for his MANY years of service to our association.  It is a great honor to have worked with both of these gentlemen. Thank you also to 2007- 2008 youth representative Katilyn Baker!

The new vice president is Tammy Waite of Edmeston NY.  Our new director is actually an "old" director we all would like to welcome back in to office Mr. Art Ospelt who has come out of retirement to work with us once again! Our 2008-2009  NYPA Queen is Gianna Leffingwell- Thank you goes out from all of us to her for representing the NYPA!

Thank you to Alicia Finch who also ran for vice president. Thank you to Tom Spasato & Webb Stevens for running for director. We are happy to have members interested in volunteering to help- Thank you!

After the meeting we had a donated goods auction with Seth Finch being auctioneer with the bid spotter being Lauren Waite!  We had so many wonderful donated items- our T-shirt designer Jennifer Scaccia brought 2 items- a coat and shirt with a Percheron on them.  Member Hope Glidden brought a unique plate with a Percheron picture on it.  There was a Percheron throw blanket, halters, shoes, maple syrup, fly spray, free range frozen meat and more -something for everyone!
The winner of the 50/50 raffle was director Toni Linderman!
